Virtual commissioning is not virtual notarization
Ontario permits eligible oaths, affirmations, and declarations to be commissioned remotely when the applicable requirements are met. Remote exercise of notarial powers is not currently permitted because no authorizing regulation has been made. Notarial acts, including certified true copies, are completed in person.
A receiving organization is not required to accept a remotely commissioned document, so confirm its requirements before booking. NotaryZen is independent of, and is not endorsed, approved, or sponsored by, the Law Society of Ontario.
